In the middle of the Hochfügen mountains lies the rustic hiking and ski hut Aar-Wirt. A rustic log cabin on the sunny side of the slopes.
Accessible with a gallant stop from above, or directly from the parking lot in Hochfügen in a few minutes walk also from below. Outside, a cozy sun terrace invites you to linger and enjoy, while inside, regional delicacies and refreshments await. Design meets tradition: The incomparable atmosphere scores with loving wooden interiors in country style and crackling coziness - tiled stove included. At the adjacent observation tower, young and old can admire the alpine world with eagle eyes.

HUT EATING
Read correctly. This particularly unusual specialty can be experienced exclusively at the Aar-Wirt - the legends are told far beyond the country's borders. Fondue à la Tirol: In this spectacle for several people, an iron hat is heated directly at the table. The hat brim is filled with homemade beef soup and fine vegetable julienne. Then, as the mood takes you, marinated organic pork, beef or turkey is sizzled on the hot hat. Baked potatoes, salads and various sauces complete the culinary spectacle. The longer the hat simmers, the more intense the broth and the cozier the evening. After all, you don't eat a hat every day!
